Berlin Pictures – Berlin Sounds is a Berlin-wide photo, video and music competition for young Berliners. 20 needs-oriented and interactive workshops convey the necessary skills and self-confidence to participate in the competition – all in the name of creativity through diversity. Lived tolerance and open-mindedness are fostered and experiences of discrimination reconditioned. Through creative expression they become empowered and their resilience to violence and extremism is increased. Young people actively use their voices and their work to tell stories from their everyday lives that even journalists have no access to usually.

Through a public award ceremony young people get attention for themselves and their work. Young Berliners, media representatives and multipliers such as Kais Setti from “Dogs of Berlin” will be part of the ceremony as well as the jury. Most of the submitted works will be published on our social media and through media partners. With the prizes some of the participants dreams come true – recording in a professional music studio, photography classes, trips or cash prizes.
